Berchtesgadener Advent Market

After a great breakfast buffet, we decided to take a diversion, just for a short time, from the Christmas Markets.  We drove to Obersalzburg to tour the Nazi Documentation Center Museum and Hitler's Bunkers.  This was my second time through the museum, however, there is always something more to learn.  It takes several hours to listen to the audio and view all of the displays and bunkers.

We are now ready to enjoy the delights of another market.  Berchtesgaden's market is right down the hill and it is absolutely beautiful.  The setting in the town's pedestrian zone and up against the backdrop of the snow covered peaks is breathtaking.  We walk the market while sipping on our gluhwein.

For this market, I am going to let the pictures tell you how much we enjoyed it.

Each, individual wooden stall was beautifully decorated.

Angels adorn the market.

Laser cut wooden ornaments made in Italy were for sale at one stall.  They were beautiful and the prices were very reasonable.  What made them extra special was the three dimension figurines on the ornament.  How special it is adorning my tree.
